The Summerland Chamber of Economic Development and Tourism members voted and passed on a new name at their annual general meeting last night. The new name is Summerland Chamber of Commerce.

Summerland Penticton Okanagan Real Estate Agent and Home Star Realty Owner Raymond MAASKE , BBA, CCC, ATM-B was present for “Summerland Chamber of Commerce” 2012 AGM was pleased that the name change has happened.

“I served on the Summerland Chamber of Commerce board of directors when it was just that – The Chamber”, said MAASKE. Clarifying the ‘title’ “will help businesses (and prospective business) know what and where to find what they are looking for”.

SCEDT (Summerland Chamber of Economic Development and Tourism) – now: Summerland Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit society comprised of business more than 800 license holders in Summerland, British Columbia, committed to growing the business community through enhanced membership services, tourism support and business development. Run by a volunteer Board of Directors, the Summerland Chamber of Commerce provide networking opportunities, facilitate and support business and community events, operate the Summerland Visitor Centre, serve as your liaison with the BC Chamber of Commerce and speak on your behalf as an advocate to various government agencies.
